MICHAEL BAY’S LATEST LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE “TRANSFORMERS” WITHOUT THE “TRANSFORMERS!”
Article by Adam Mast
Make sure your teleprompters are in working order because Michael Bay is back and if the trailer for his latest film proves anything, it’s that this filmmaker is still a huge fan of giant explosions.
Any time Bay makes something outside the TRANSFORMERS franchise is a time to rejoice (with the notable exception of PAIN AND GAIN…and PEARL HARBOR…and BAD BOYS 2) and while I will certainly go to see this movie, I find it endlessly odd that co-star John Krasinski doesn’t utter a line of dialogue in this clip. Seriously! He looks to be playing an extension of his virtually silent character in Cameron Crowe’s ALOHA.
Truth be told, this movie looks pretty large in scale and Bay certainly knows how to frame a shot. The question is, will this be another PEARL HARBOR or will it be his ZERO DARK THIRTY? Personally, I’m hoping for the latter.
