“MAD MAX: FURY ROAD,” “ROOM,” “THE BIG SHORT,” AND “SPOTLIGHT” EARN A TON OF MUCH-DESERVED LOVE!
Article by Adam Mast
The Oscar nominations were revealed this morning and while such award shows aren’t always an accurate barometer for what’s great and what’s not (one person’s crap is another person’s treasure), I never miss them. Simply put; The Academy Awards are a movie nerd’s Super Bowl.
While there was little doubt that films like THE REVENANT (a movie that is, while stunning to look at, a little overpraised if you ask me) would be well represented, there were a handful of disappointing snubs and unexpected surprises. We’ll get to those a little later.
Here’s a look at the nominees.
