ARRIVAL Movie Teaser

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH DAVID TWOHY’S THE ARRIVAL STARRING CHARLIE SHEEN

ARRIVAL is the latest effort from the great Denis Villeneuve (INCENDIES, PRISONERS & SICARIO.) Our crew was fortunate enough to see some footage from this film during CinemaCon last April, when it was still under the title, STORY OF YOUR LIFE. Without question, the sizzle reel Paramount shared with exhibitors that weekend was one of the highlights of the convention. If you’ve seen Villenueuve’s films, then you know he makes quiet, haunting, provocative movies that challenge the mind, and this one looks to continue in that tradition.

ARRIVAL looks like a visual stunner but it also looks to be equally thought provoking. Definitely shades of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND in there but there’s very little doubt that Villenueuve has fashioned a movie that exists in a world all its own.

A full trailer is expected in the next couple of weeks but for now, check out this exceptional 60 second spot. Amy Adams looks terrific in this as does Jeremy Renner, but make no mistakes…This is the Denis Villenueuve show! Judging by this gifted storyteller’s efforts it’s easy to see why Warner Brothers would hire him to make a new BLADE RUNNER movie. We’ll talk more about that one later, though.

For now, let us know what you think of this ARRIVAL t.v. spot in the comments section below.

SYNOPSIS:

“When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team – lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) – is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.”
