“HOW DO WE ACT WHEN THINGS ARE DIFFICULT”
Director Clay Tweel does it again by following up his bizarre and funny Sundance documentary, FINDERS KEEPERS, and bringing us his all new film GLEASON. Tweel gives us a rather intimate look into the life of retired NFL player, Steve Gleason, who was stricken with ALS at the all-to-young age of 34. GLEASON is a powerhouse film and an undeniable emotional ride. The film ultimately brought me to tears and inspired hope and perseverance. At the heart of this film is the relationship of Fathers and Sons. It’s about living life positively. It’s about the small and simple things. It’s about questions and answers. It’s about acceptance and understanding. It’s about love and care. It’s something for everyone and an important real film.
After watching this doc, you will see Steve Gleason as the amazing human being he is and all the wonderful things he’s done to further the research and progress of fighting ALS. You can donate to the cause to at TEAMGLEASON.ORG.
SYNOPSIS:
“The hit documentary from the 2016 Sundance Film Festival goes inside the life of Steve Gleason, the former New Orleans Saints defensive back who, at the age of 34, was diagnosed with ALS and given a life expectancy of two to five years. Weeks later, Gleason found out his wife, Michel, was expecting their first child. A video journal that began as a gift for his unborn son expands to chronicle Steve’s determination to get his relationships in order, build a foundation to provide other ALS patients with purpose, and adapt to his declining physical condition—utilizing medical technologies that offer the means to live as fully as possible.”
