IS ANYONE ELSE EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE?!
Article by Adam Mast
Take this purely as a rumor at this point, but word on the street is that J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm, and the Mouse House will drop a third and presumably final EPISODE VII trailer on October 19th! Various online sources are reporting that this wont be a teaser but rather a full trailer, and that it will hit the same day advance tickets for THE FORCE AWAKENS go on sale.
This may not sound like news, but hardcore STAR WARS fans would tell you differently. How do I feel about the prospect of a new trailer after a 6-month dry spell (that Instagram clip with Finn breaking out the lightsaber doesn’t count)? Well, a couple of months ago, I was positively frothing at the mouth for it. The truth is though, we’re so close to the December 18th release now, I’d actually be fine without it. In fact, I’m kind of excited at the idea of going into this movie without having been exposed to any more footage.
Now, this doesn’t mean I wont be watching the new trailer when and if it drops. I simply don’t have that kind of will power. Still, how bold would it be if Abrams and crew decided to hold off and not share anymore footage. It’s not like they need to release another trailer. This is going to be the highest grossing film of all time with or without it.
There hasn’t been an official announcement in regard to the new clip but Abrams suggested back in July that a new trailer would make the rounds in the fall sometime so this all makes sense. Beyond that, it’s looking like tickets will be going on sale on October 19th as well. If you’re a fan, buy them quick because they’re going to go fast!
Personally, I’m hoping the rumors of marathon screening events hold true. If they do, I’ll be there. I’ll gladly sit through the prequels if that means getting the opportunity to see the original trilogy on the big screen again. And then, I’ll cap it all off with a first showing of THE FORCE AWAKENS in Imax!
As for the upcoming trailer, it looks like we only have a couple more weeks to wait. In the meantime, enjoy the hilarity that is “Vader Sessions” which we’ve embedded at the top of this article.
Damn, it’s good to be a STAR WARS fan right now!

Can’t. Wait. I’m one of those nerds who teared up on the first teaser trailer when the Falcon emerged from the desert, and blazed past those two TIE fighters.
