On Tuesday, April 14th, CinemaCon attendees were treated to the world premiere of the trailer for GODZILLA MINUS ZERO, courtesy of TOHO and GKIDS. What’s more, writer/director/effects man Takashi Yamazaki was on hand to tee up the first look at this highly-anticipated 2026 international release.
Before delivering the visual goods, Yamazaki set the stage through the gracious assistance of his translator by way of revealing that GODZILLA MINUS ZERO will, in fact, be a direct follow up to MINUS ONE. The film will follow the same family introduced in the previous film and as was the case in that last epic outing, MINUS ZERO will be equal measures spectacle and heart.
Then, it was on to the footage. First up, a rousing and insightful behind-the-scenes featurette featuring Yamazaki and his team in action. That was followed by a brief but heart-pounding teaser trailer made all the more impressive because CinemaCon spares no expense when it comes to theatrical tech. It looked and sounded incredible!
While only in the neighborhood of 60 seconds, the towering clip features everyone’s favorite monster in destructive action. I’ll tread lightly here as the teaser is expected to go public very soon only to say that it was impressive, particularly the final moment…A moment that puts Godzilla’s size in an easy-to-digest perspective.
GODZILLA MINUS ZERO opens in U.S. theaters and in glorious Imax on November 6th and quite honestly, it’s easily one of the year’s most highly-anticipated films for we at Cinemast.net.
We’ll share the teaser trailer here when it goes live.
