BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!

As I prepare to jump in to my 21st year at Sundance, bad ass news has just spread across the internet.
The jury is still out as to whether or not Justin Lin is the right guy to helm a TREK movie. The FAST AND FURIOUS franchise certainly suggests he can handle action and a multi cultural ensemble but still, TREK is an entirely different ballgame.
One thing most fans seem to agree on is that Roberto Orci leaving as screenwriter was a good thing.
Now comes word that TREK 3 has landed a hell of a co-writer. Who?
It’s none other than Scotty himself, Simon Pegg. Pegg has proven to been quite a terrific writer having frequently collaborated with fellow Brit, Edgar Wright (see SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ, and THE WORLD ‘S END.)
This is great news but it does make me wish more than ever that Wright was on board as director.
