Director Tommy Wirkola burst on to the horror scene in 2009 with a relentlessly gory horror comedy called DEAD SNOW. In the film, a group of partying twenty-somethings find themselves battling for their lives when an army of Nazi zombies rise from the grave and start causing blood soaked mischief. Yes, you read that correctly…Nazi zombies!!
The film garnered quite a bit of buzz at film festivals and upon its theatrical and DVD release, it developed quite a cult following. The modest success of DEAD SNOW even earned Wirkola an opportunity to direct a studio picture (WITCH HUNTERS).
One thing no one saw coming, was a DEAD SNOW sequel, but guess what? DEAD SNOW: RED VS. DEAD is due in theaters soon. I saw this picture at Sundance earlier this year and I have to say, I found it entertaining…In a sick and twisted sort of way.
The fine folks at Bloody Disgusting have unveiled an exclusive poster for the film and it’s a controversial classic. Aside from the concept, I really dig that the marketing team plays with the fact that this is a sequel no one really expected to see…Right there on the poster.
DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD opens in limited release on October 10th.
