IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE
Article by Adam Mast
Remember how amazingly photorealistic the animals in Ang Lee’s LIFE OF PI were? Well, IRON MAN director Jon Favreau wants you to forget all about them.
In his new take on Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK, Favreau and crew are sparing no expense and the end result looks to be quite the breathtaking adventure.
Neel Sethi stars as Mowgli–a young orphan who would be raised in the jungle by a colorful assortment of nature’s most magnificent animals. The all-star vocal cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Giancarlo Esposito, Christopher Walken, and lovable Bill Murray as Baloo.
Favreau is an avid JUNGLE BOOK fan and for those wondering if this live action/CG fusion will include musical numbers, the answer is yes. I can speak for anyone else, but the very idea of Bill Murray singing “The Bare Necessities” has me grinning from ear to ear.
Walt Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK, directed by Jon Favreau, swings into theaters on April 15th, 2016.
