THE LEGENDARY LEONARD NIMOY PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 83

Spock-Leonard-Nimoy

LEONARD NIMOY (1931-2015)

Article by Adam Mast

Sad news today. The great Leonard Nimoy has passed away at the age of 83. Known for his legendary turn as Spock in Gene Roddenberry’s “Star Trek” t.v. series, Nimoy would go on to reprise the role in several popular  “Star Trek” movies. He would make memorable appearances in Phillip Kaufman’s outstanding 1979 remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, “Gunsmoke”, and “Fringe” as well. Beyond that, Nimoy proved to be quite an accomplished director having helmed “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock”, “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”, “Three Men and a Baby”, and “The Good Mother” starring Diane Keaton. While  this warm and genuine talent will be missed, we can all take comfort in knowing that he lived a long and prospered life. I think I’ll hold a “Star Trek” marathon in his honor this weekend.
